Yale-NUS Global Affairs majors discussed future careers and professions at the GA Career on October 29th, 2015. The Global Affairs Head of Studies, Professor Nancy Gleason, began the session discussing the potential careers upon to Global Affairs majors right after undergraduate studies, and the advantages GA majors should emphasis while applying for jobs. Moreover, she gave examples of different websites to consider when searching for jobs after graduation, and helped students differentiate what GA-related careers would require a graduate degree of PhD in addition to an undergraduate education. Representatives from the Yale-NUS Centre of International and Professional Experience (CIPE) gave a presentation on how to write a strong resume, and useful tips on what to avoid when doing so. Overall, the GA majors who attended left with a better understanding of how to advertise themselves in the global job market, and employers will value how the skills they are learning from GA courses.
